The coasts of Otago are rugged and very interesting. They vary from sandy beaches to harsh rock forms and jagged cliffs. I always enjoy painting the sea. The light is often dramatic and very changeable which is a wonderful challenge. This new work has just been completed is available framed in the Southern Lights Gallery.
Along with my fellow artists: Ruth Reid, Linelle Stacey and Christine Maynard we are working in our pop up gallery Southern Lights in Northland Mall in Christchurch. (next to Whitcoulls). We have been overwhelmed with the response from visitors and repeat visitors in the Mall. All have been very complimentary about our work and many purchases have been made. We have enjoyed meeting so many people and having wonderful conversations not only about art but life in general.
Of course being a pop up we are nearing our time for the lease to end. At this stage Sunday 26th May will be our final day there.
If you have time and are able to come in or return again you will be most welcome.
